Dr. Crispin Eley

Dr. Crispin Eley is a globally recognised expert in liposomal technology with nearly four decades of experience. He holds undergraduate and doctoral degrees in chemistry from Oxford University.

As the founder, CEO and Chief Scientific Officer of BioUp Mimetic Technologies, Dr. Eley has pioneered patented liposomal formulations for applications in consumer health, cosmetics, animal health (including aquaculture) and crop science. He has also developed proprietary manufacturing techniques enabling low-cost, scalable production.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Eley led the development of AmBisome®, the world’s first injectable liposome therapeutic, at Vestar Inc, later acquired by Gilead Sciences, where he held senior technical and executive roles. He has extensive experience in regulatory approvals, product patenting, and patent litigation.
