Patrick Manning

Patrick Manning has served as executive chairman of BioUp Mimetic Technologies since 2023, leading business development, fundraising, corporate governance and financial management of the company. He is also the founder and fund manager of Manning Ventures I (“MV1”), a $20M venture fund focused on high-growth companies in the nutrition, sport, and wellness sectors, with MV1 a major investor in BioUp.

Before joining BioUp, Patrick was the head of group strategy for Anglo American, a FTSE 10 diversified miner and owner of De Beers, where he spearheaded a turnaround that resulted in a 10x increase in share price. Earlier in his career, Patrick spent two decades at Bain & Company, rising to senior partner and advising top management teams and boards on long-term transformational strategies.

Patrick graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University with a degree in finance and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. A former Olympian, he won a silver medal in rowing at the 1992 Olympic Games.
