Tom Sturgess
Tom Sturgess is an entrepreneur, investor, and business leader with decades of experience managing and growing global enterprises across a wide range of industries. A graduate of Harvard Business School, Tom held senior leadership roles before immigrating to New Zealand in 1996, including Chairman, CEO, and President in companies such as United Stationers Inc., Swift Independent, largest US pork and lamb processor, 3rd largest in beef, sold to JBS Foods, and Wingate Partners, a private equity fund he co-founded. His leadership drove transformative growth through operational excellence.
In New Zealand, Tom served as Chairman of New Zealand King Salmon, helping establish it as a global leader in premium salmon production, and today owns Lone Star Farms, Methane Mitigation Ventures, and has significant interests in businesses spanning agri-food, aquaculture, printing, retail, manufacturing, industrial supplies and forestry. Tom chairs the Investment Committee for Regeneration.VC, a venture capital fund focused on regenerative technologies and the circular economy. Tom is an investor in BioUp.
